To prevent the spread of an infectious disease such as COVID-19, it’s important to remember that no single preventive measure is good enough on its own, and Public Health needs your help. We all have a role to play in protecting individuals and slowing the spread of the virus in our community.
KNOW THE RISK
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT UPDATE
Maricopa County Unified Command is working to make sure there is enough Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the most vulnerable in our community. The Maricopa County supply of PPE has included inventory from the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS), purchases by Maricopa County Public Health, the Arizona Department of Health Services, as well as from other agencies via the Emergency Management Assistance Compact.
Our current inventory has us confident we have sufficient resources to keep our long-term care facilities supplied with critical PPE. Additionally, we will also be able to support our first responder agencies should their PPE supplies reach critical levels. We continue, however, to watch our inventory levels carefully to ensure we will always have sufficient quantities on hand.
COUNTY AGENCIES AT WORK
Correctional Health Services
Correctional Health Services has launched a ‘COVID-19 in County Jails’ online dashboard. The new dashboard will provide real-time data on testing and results in jails, including the distribution of positive cases. Information on facility efforts to prevent or mitigate the potential spread of COVID-19 will also be available.
Elections
Given the impact of COVID-19, the Elections Department has made it easier for voters to request a ballot in the mail and they’ve expanded in-person voting options through a Vote Center model. All voting locations will be large enough to allow physical distancing and will have heightened safety measures, designed in consultation with the County’s Department of Public Health.

ACTUALIZACIONES SOBRE EQUIPO DE PROTECCIÓN PERSONAL
El Comando Unificado del Condado Maricopa está trabajando para asegurarse que exista suficiente Equipo de Protección Personal para la comunidad más vulnerable. La cantidad de Equipo de Protección Personal incluye inventario de la dotación nacional de emergencia (SNS, por sus siglas en inglés) compras de Salud Pública del Condado Maricopa, el Departamento de Servicios de Salud de Arizona como de otras agencias por el tratado de Asistencia de Administración de Emergencias.
Nuestro inventario nos da confianza de que tenemos lo suficiente para responder a emergencias si llegáramos a un estado crítico. Continuamos vigilando en inventario cuidadosamente para asegurar que siempre tengamos la cantidad suficiente a la mano.
AGENCIAS DEL CONDADO A SU SERVICIO
Servicios de Salud Correctionales
Servicios de Salud Correccionales han lanzado un tablero en línea (en inglés). Este nuevo tablero proveerá datos al instante sobre los resultados de pruebas en las cárceles, incluyendo la distribución de casos positivos. Además, también ofrecerá informacion sobre los esfuerzos de las instalaciones para prevenir y mitigar la propagación de COVID-19.
Elecciones
Dado al impacto de COVID-19, el Departamento de Elecciones ha hecho más fácil que los votantes pidan una boleta por correo y han expandido las opciones para votar en persona por medio del modelo Vote Center. Todas las localidades serán más amplias y permitirán el distanciamiento físico y tendrán medidas de seguridad más estrictas diseñadas en conjunción con el Departamento de Salud Pública del Condado Maricopa.
