SOCIAL DISTANCING IN NATURE
Maricopa County Parks have experienced a significant increase in visits in recent weeks as people look to get outdoors. Our parks have implemented changes to help manage a possible influx of visitors over the holiday weekend:

This is a time of great community need. Here are a few resources to connect those who need help with people and resources who can provide it.
GIVING COMES FULL CIRCLE
A man who got help from the Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) more than a decade ago after coming to the United States as a refugee is among those giving back to his community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Yarsiah Momolu Sirleaf recently donated thousands of face masks at the county’s Donation Center for personal protective equipment.
COUNTY AGENCIES AT WORK
Unified Command
Earlier this month, Maricopa County opened up a unified command structure so public health professionals, emergency management personnel, communicators, and others can collaborate in a single location. Under this structure, the role of incident commander is shared by Robert Rowley, director of the Department of Emergency Management, and Marcy Flanagan, director of the Department of Public Health. Among the objectives of this unified command: to conduct disease surveillance and investigation; to support county, local, tribal, and health care partners; and to provide critical information in a timely manner.

UNA PERSONA QUE LLEGÓ COMO REFUGIADO, REGRESA A DAR APOYO A SU COMUNIDAD
Un hombre que recibió ayuda del departamento de Salud Pública del Condado Maricopa hace más de una década cuando llego a Estados Unidos como refugiado regresa a dar una mano durante esta pandemia COVID-19. Yarsiah Momolu Sirleaf recientemente donó miles de mascarillas al centro de donación de Salud Pública.
AGENCIAS DEL CONDADO A SU SERVICIO
Comando Unificado
A principios de este mes, el Condado Maricopa empezó a operar bajo la estructura de comando unificado donde personal de salud pública, personal de manejo de emergencias, y comunicadores entre otros puedan colaborar bajo un mismo techo. Bajo esta estructura, el rol de comandante encargado es compartido por Robert Rowley, director del Departamento de Manejo de Emergencias y por Marcy Flanagan, directora del Departamento de Salud Pública del Condado Maricopa. Entre las metas de este comando unificado se encuentra llevar a cabo investigaciones y monitoreo de enfermedades, brindar apoyo a socios del condado, locales, tribus y socios del sector de salud y además brindar información importante de una manera pronta y eficaz.
