The Maricopa County Joint Information Center is providing daily COVID-19 updates for members of the media and general public. This is the update for April 9, 2020.

COVID-19 TESTING UPDATE
COVID-19 testing is beginning to become more available in Maricopa County, but challenges with the supply chain still mean that not everyone who wants to get tested will get tested. Dr. Rebecca Sunenshine, medical director for Maricopa County Public Health, explains the current status of testing in Maricopa County.

6.6 million Americans filed for unemployment over the past week, Maricopa County provides support services for those who are unemployed through Arizona @ Work. Career services are available by appointment only right now. Job seekers are asked to complete this form.

Animal Care and Control
The population at Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) shelters is at its lowest level in recent memory as the organization continues to adjust operations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Library District
The Maricopa County Library District is providing free, temporary digital library resources. County libraries are not open to the public, but they are still committed to providing critical services to residents during the pandemic.
