The Maricopa County Joint Information Center is providing daily COVID-19 updates for members of the media and general public. This is the update for April 20, 2020.

CRISIS RESPONSE NETWORK

Since March 22, the Crisis Response Network’s COVID-19 hotline has received more than 25,000 calls. Residents can dial 2–1–1 to receive information about services available in their community during this time of need. The bilingual hotline is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by dialing 2–1–1.

RESOURCES FOR BUSINESSES

Businesses have questions, too. Public Health has partnered with 2–1–1 so employers and business owners can get answers about their role in preventing and slowing the spread of COVID-19.

If you’re an employer or business owner, you can call 2–1–1 and follow the prompts to get to the business line. It’s open 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday.

ARIZONA TOGETHER

Another great resource for those struggling during the pandemic is ArizonaTogether.org. The website can connect people to financial assistance, healthcare or mental health needs, job assistance, and more.

HOW PUBLIC HEALTH TRACKS DISEASE WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO TEST EVERYONE

As leaders across the country determine how best to balance community health needs with the timing of reopening businesses, schools, and other aspects of public life, it might be helpful to know how Maricopa County Public Health is assessing the situation in our community. Maricopa County uses hospitalization data to track the disease on what’s known as an epi curve.

This data is not affected by the amount of testing available because every case tracked in the hospital has been tested. These trends help Public Health implement strategies to limit the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

NETWORK DE RESPUESTA A CRISIS (CRN, por sus siglas en ingles)

Desde el 22 de marzo, la línea de COVID-19 de CRN ha recibido más de 25,000 llamadas. Los residentes pueden marcar al 2–1–1 para recibir informacion sobre los servicios que están disponibles en su comunidad durante este tiempo de necesidad. Usted puede tener acceso a la línea bilingüe las 24 horas del día, 7 días de la semana, solo marque el 2–1–1.

RECURSOS PARA NEGOCIOS

Tiene preguntas sobre negocios. Salud Pública se han unido a 2–1–1 para que los propietarios de negocios obtengan respuestas sobre cómo pueden prevenir y disminuir la propagación de COVID-19.

El condado Maricopa usa información sobre hospitalizaciones para saber cómo está la situación en cuestión de estadísticas.

Esta información no se ve afectada por la cantidad de pruebas disponible por que cada caso en los hospitales se les ha hecho la prueba. Esto es lo que Salud Pública usa para implementar estrategias y así evitar la propagación de COVID-19 en la comunidad.
