The Maricopa County Joint Information Center is providing daily COVID-19 updates for members of the media and the general public. This is the update for June 30, 2020.

· 48,710 Total confirmed COVID-19 cases in Maricopa County; 5% hospitalized; 1% ICU

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
So many of you are choosing to be part of the solution by taking preventive measures to protect yourself and others. As a reminder, here’s a quick list of what measures help reduce risk of getting or spreading COVID-19.
· WHEN POSSIBLE — Avoid being in any setting with more than 10 people
· ALWAYS — Keep at least six feet of distance from others when out in public
· WHEN POSSIBLE — Limit contact with those outside of our household, especially if you are in a high-risk group
· ALWAYS — Stay home when you are sick
· ALWAYS — Stay home as much as possible when a household member has tested positive for COVID-19 except to get essential medical care, prescriptions, and food
· FREQUENTLY — Wash hands with soap and water, and use alcohol-based hand sanitizer if unable to wash hands
· ALWAYS — Wear a mask or cloth face covering when going out in public

HOLIDAY TRAVEL
Getting out of town and going somewhere cooler is tradition this time of year in Maricopa County. If your 4th of July plans include traveling, remember to take precautions to protect yourself and others. Travel increases your risk of getting or spreading COVID-19, but there are ways to get away responsibly.
BUSINESS ASSISTANCE
Business owners taking precautions- we see you, and we appreciate you. Times are hard and uncertain for businesses right now. Public Health has updated its website with a new guidance document to help you make responsible choices for customers and employees.
CRISIS COUNSELING
If you are experiencing a personal crisis, call 2–1–1 and you’ll be connected with a crisis counseling provider to get immediate help. Counseling is available in both English and Spanish.

Medical Examiner
The Office of the Medical Examiner investigates suspicious deaths in Maricopa County and, despite the COVID-19 crisis, is still able to manage all investigations that fall within their jurisdiction.

2020 CENSUS
Your community needs you to participate in the 2020 Census. An accurate census means Maricopa County will gets its fair share of federal dollars to invest in things like public health, infrastructure, and schools. When everybody counts, we all win!

¿CÓMO PUEDE AYUDAR?
Muchos están optando por ser parte de la solución tomando pasos preventivos para protegerse usted y los demás. Como recordatorio, aquí está la lista de medidas para reducir el riesgo de obtener o propagar COVID-19.

PIENSA VIAJAR ESTE DĺA FESTIVO
¿Va a salir fuera del calor del Condado Maricopa como es tradición en esta época del año? Si en sus planes del 4 de julio esta viajar recuerde tomar precauciones para protegerse a usted mismo y a otros. El viajar incrementa su riesgo de enfermarse con COVID-19 pero hay maneras de hacerlo responsablemente.
ASISTENCIA PARA NEGOCIOS
Los negocios están tomando precauciones — lo vemos y apreciamos. Los tiempos son difíciles e inciertos para los negocios en esta época. Salud Pública ha actualizado su página web con la nueva guía para ayudar a tomar decisiones responsables para sus clientes y empleados.
CONSEJERĺA DE CRISIS
Si usted está experimentando una crisis personal, llame al 2–1–1 y conéctese al proveedor de consejería de crisis para ayuda inmediata. La consejería está disponible en inglés y español.
AGENCIAS DEL CONDADO A SU SERVICIO
Médico Forense
La oficina del médico forense investiga muertes sospechosas en el Condado Maricopa y a pesar de COVID-19, aun investigan casos que caen dentro de su jurisdicción.
CENSO 2020
Su comunidad necesita que participe en el Censo 2020. El tener un número actual significa que el Condado Maricopa obtendría los fondos federales para investir en salud pública, infraestructura y escuelas. Cuando se cuenta a todos, todos ganamos.
