Maricopa County COVID-19 Update

The Maricopa County Joint Information Center is providing daily COVID-19 updates for members of the media and the general public. This is the update for June 23, 2020.

TODAY’S KEY MESSAGE: COUNTY LAUNCHES ONLINE EARLY BALLOT PORTAL AND EXPANDS IN-PERSON VOTING OPTIONS
Now more than ever, voters need flexibility when it comes to the ways they can vote, whether that be in person or by mail. Maricopa County Elections Department launched an online portal where Maricopa County voters can easily request a ballot in the mail for August Primary Election or sign up to vote by mail permanently at Request.Maricopa.Vote.
The county is also moving to a “vote anywhere” in-person voting model for the August Primary Election. Voters will no longer be required to vote at their one assigned precinct.
The polls will be open from July 8-August 4, including some evenings and weekends.
SAFETY MEASURES AT ELECTION HEADQUARTERS
Heightened safety measures have also been implemented at the Maricopa County Tabulation and Election Center where 400 election workers will process the estimated 600,000 early ballots returned for the August Primary Election.

Maricopa County is putting hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funds to immediate use helping people impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic while also pulling back on discretionary spending unrelated to the crisis. It’s a one-two effort to best serve taxpayers during a time of national emergency. The Board of Supervisors approved the final $3.071 billion budget for fiscal year 2021. Learn more>

MENSAJE DEL DĺA: EL CONDADO LANZA UN PORTAL EN LĺNEA DE VOTACIÓN TEMPRANA Y EXPANDE LAS OPCIONES DE VOTACIÓN EN PERSONA
Ahora más que nunca, los votantes tienen la flexibilidad cuando se trata de votar ya sea por correo o en persona. El Departamento de Elecciones del Condado Maricopa lanza un portal en línea que permite que los votantes del condado Maricopa soliciten una boleta electoral por correo para las elecciones primarias de agosto o puedan registrarse para votar temprano permanentemente en Solicitud.Maricopa.voto.
El condado también está ofreciendo la alternativa de votar en cualquier urna en persona para las elecciones primarias de agosto. Eso significa que los votantes no se les pedirán que voten en un sitio en particular.
