Maricopa County Public Health Seeks Resident Input on Survey to Understand Impact of COVID-19, Establish Funding Priorities

A new survey from Maricopa County Public Health (MCDPH), open through June 30, asks Maricopa County residents age 12 and up how COVID-19 has impacted them and their families. Results from the anonymous survey will enable leaders to better understand the overall public health and quality of life in the County so resources and funding can be directed to help people emerge from the pandemic stronger and more resilient.

The online survey, which can be completed in about 15 minutes or less, asks questions about the respondent’s demographic background, health, health status of other members of the household, impacts of COVID-19 on their health and provides an opportunity for participants to offer additional comments. No personal identifying information will be collected.

To ensure that the data provides a representative sample of the County’s population, residents are encouraged to have each member of their household age 12 and up complete their own survey and share it with a friend. Surveys are also available in alternative formats, including paper copies and translation into 13 languages, by contacting hipmc@maricopa.gov.

Results from this survey, which are expected in late August, will be posted online at www.MaricopaHealthMatters.org. The information gained through this triennial survey will be incorporated into MCDPH’s ongoing community health improvement planning and help inform the planning and action for cities and community-based organizations.

Background

Since January 22, 2020, there have been 551,563 cases of COVID-19 detected in Maricopa County, of which, 10,064 were fatal. As of June 1, 2021, more than 3.4 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to Maricopa County residents.
